Cleveland Potash intend to carry out a seaborne Seismic survey between Sandsend and Runswick bay during the spring of 2009. The exact timings are not known at present but it is expected to be March – May 09. I understand that the Seismic Survey vessel will be either at anchor during the time of the survey or dragging a long cable behind the vessel steaming around the survey area.
David would like to engage with the Club and brief our members regarding the interference that may be caused in the early part of 2009 to vessels in the survey area. He is keen to attend the Club and provide a PowerPoint brief early in the new year.
Subject to Committee approval I will arrange a suitable date in January to provide a full briefing to all members. I was going to suggest either the evening of Saturday 10th January or the afternoon of Saturday 24th January. Nigel Robinson has arranged the Burns night on the 24th January. On Friday 23rd January Nigel has a practice dance night for the Burns night.
